Linda's Granny Square Quilt

During the early fall of 2012 I made these fun granny squares and put them together into a quilt for my dear friend, Linda, because she was turning 60. I think anyone who turns 60 deserves a warm, colorful quilt to cheer them up. Quilts are like old friends. They are always there to provide comfort, warmth, cheer, and to add interest to life. They represent hours of loving labor and fill the most basic of needs. Making them is such fun and they add interest and a splash of variety to everyday life.

Three Little Ladies

I made three twin size quilts for my three little granddaughters in Idaho.  They are each a little different, but basically look the same.  They have cupcakes, butterflies, stars, dots, and lots of other things on them, including toys, dolly dresses, shoes and kittens.  I hope they enjoy them.

Saturday

Saturday was created from Erin McMorris's "Weekends" collection and a bunch of other fabrics that Candice and I added to our quilts.  I liked her quilt so much I had to make mine immediately, while I was in the zone.  I actually really like it.  I didn't, while I was making it, but when I finally had it all quilted I was really pleased with the result.  I didn't quilt over the grey strips but when I took it off the long-arm I didn't like it, so I quilted some straight lines on my sewing machine.  That had the desired effect.  It's a fun quilt.  I pieced the back out of what was left so I guess I should post a picture of that too.  I bound it with a grey and white pinstripe.

Candice's quilt. Such a lovely week. Candice flew in for a week to make this lovely quilt. She had bought the fabrics a year or so ago. It is mostly from one of Erin McMorris's collections. She made a lovely cushion to go with it.

Star Power

This is a table cover I use in the fall. I just quilted it a few months ago but forgot to post it here.
